In the true spirit of Kartini Day, Kinderland Pondok Indah came alive with colour, culture, and confidence as our students joyfully celebrated this special occasion on April 21, 2026. Kartini Day is a special day in Indonesia where we celebrate R.A. Kartini who believed that all children especially girls should learn and follow their dreams. On Kartini Day, we emphasised to our students that boys and girls are equally capable and special, and that each one can grow, learn, and become anything they want to be.

Children from Nursery to Kindergarten 2 proudly participated in a vibrant fashion show, showcasing beautiful batik and traditional Indonesian attire. Each child walked the ramp with pride, reflecting the values of courage and self-expression inspired by R.A. Kartini. The celebration was further energised by enthusiastic yel-yel performances, filling the atmosphere with excitement and unity.

Adding a meaningful dimension to the celebration, the principal engaged with the students in an interactive moment, asking them what they would like to be when they grow up. The responses were both delightful and inspiring, ranging from a YouTuber, artist, basketball player, soccer player, and chef. Through this exchange, the children were gently encouraged to believe that they can pursue any dream they choose, and that they need not feel limited by stereotypes. Whether in sports or professions traditionally associated with boys, every child was reminded that courage and passion matter most.

Our dedicated teachers added a delightful touch with a short skit called Kartini, Cahaya untuk Semua, engaging young learners with a meaningful skit that brought Kartini’s story alive.

In addition, our playgroup and pre-nursery students also joined in the festivities who looked adorable in their batik and traditional costumes.

The event was thoughtfully led by our teachers, who celebrated the children’s efforts by awarding the Best Costume, from Nursery to Kindergarten 2. Adding to the joy of the day, a surprise gift for the best-dressed mother and grandmother brought smiles and laughter, making it a truly inclusive celebration for our Kinderland community.

The celebration was a beautiful reminder of the importance of nurturing confidence, cultural appreciation, and the belief that every child has the potential to shine.
