At Kinderland Preschool @ Muara Karang, K1 our Kindergarteners had an opportunity to visit an orphanage ‘Hati Bangsa’ at the end of term two. Visiting an orphanage is a wonderful and meaningful experience for young children as it gives them a chance to meet new friends and learn the joy of sharing and being kind.

Prior to our students visit to the orphanage, we had our ‘Entrepreneur Day’ wherein artworks were made and later sold to parents and guests for charity. The profits from the event were used to purchase bags and small gifts such as toys, books and snacks for the children at the orphanage. At Kinderland, we turn lessons into meaningful acts, budding our children’s interest in social enterprising from a tender age.

During the visit at the orphanage, our children shared their gifts and also took part in fun activities such as singing songs and playing games. These moments of fun and laughter created a joyful environment. Parents donated and joined us during this event too.

To help our children understand diversity, we share with them that their new friends at the orphanage may have different backgrounds, but they are just like them—full of dreams, energy, and a desire for love and friendship. The visit to an orphanage also allowed the children to experience the positive feelings through being kind and caring.

At the end of the day, the smiles and warm hugs exchanged made the visit unforgettable. A beautiful lesson was learnt about spreading joy and making the world a brighter place, one friend at a time!
