Creativity and innovation took centre stage at Kinderland Preschool @ Pakubuwono as our young inventors explored the theme “DIY Recycled Materials: Amazing Inventions.” This hands-on project encouraged children to transform everyday recyclables into useful and imaginative creations.

The activity aimed to nurture children’s creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork while promoting environmental awareness. Using materials such as cardboard, bottles, and paper rolls, the children designed and built their own “inventions” — from simple robots and vehicles to creative household tools.

To celebrate their hard work, the school organised a mini exhibition and fashion parade, where the children proudly showcased their inventions and costumes made from recyclables. The event was attended by Kinderland children, teachers, and parents – all of whom were impressed by the children’s creativity and confidence.

Through this meaningful project, the children learned that recycling can be fun, creative and purposeful. They also discovered that even small ideas can make a big difference to the environment and the community.

The event created meaningful opportunities for young minds to think creatively, work collaboratively, and care for the world around them. This is aligned with Kinderland’s philosophy of a holistic education — where learning extends beyond academics to character-building and environmental stewardship.

At Kinderland, we continue to inspire our children to see possibilities in everything, because with imagination and purpose, little hands can truly create big inventions!
