Kinderland Jakarta proudly introduces S.T.R.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Reading & wRiting, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) into our curriculum, making this academic year an exciting leap in learning! This dynamic approach sparks curiosity, encouraging students to think critically, experiment boldly, and solve real-world problems through hands-on exploration. From brainstorming and researching to prototyping, constructing, and assembling, children take the lead in their learning.
The inspiring S.T.R.E.A.M experience at Kinderland Preschool @ Pulo Mas saw children collaborate on innovative projects during Term 2, leading up to an exciting presentation to parents. Their journey began with mind mapping, where they explored and conceptualized simple machines that fascinated them.
Pre-nursery children, as young as three years old built a sprout house, marvelling at the process of plant growth. Nursery children crafted working models of a blender and washing machine, drawing inspiration from their visit to a nearby laundromat. Kindergarten One (K1) class engineered an inclined plane, transforming it into a thrilling toy car racing track. One of the Kindergarten Two (K2) class designed a functional irrigation system to water small potted plants, while the other class impressed everyone with their creative water fountain project.

Pre-Nursery Two students proudly showcased their ‘Sprout House’ project.

Nursery children excitedly explained how they made and operated their mini blender and washing machine.

K1 explained how they built a sliding ramp with recycled pipes, and parents demonstrated how it can be used as a toy car racing track.

K2 Caring explained the ideas, process, and functionality of the drip irrigation model.
This hands-on S.T.R.E.A.M experience has sparked greater excitement, fostering greater creativity, and nurtured a passion for innovation and discovery! The children collaborated, sourced for recycled materials, and brought their ideas to life with enthusiasm and ingenuity. They confidently presented their projects, shared their goals, processes, and real-world applications.
Parents were impressed at the S.T.R.E.A.M projects presentations and witnessed the opportunities given to children to share their knowledge and confidence to speak before an audience.
