K2 children from Kinderland Pulomas had a unique opportunity to visit SLBN (Sekolah Luar Biasa Negeri) 07, a government-run inclusive school dedicated to students with hearing, visual, speech impairments, and those with mental disabilities.

Upon arrival, the K2 students were divided into small groups to explore SLBN 07’s classrooms and engage in activities with students aged 6-7. Some Kinderland children learned about basic Braille, gaining insight into how visually impaired students read and write. This close interaction allowed our young learners a glimpse into the world of those who navigate life with various disabilities, broadening their understanding and empathy.

The K2 students also joined their SLBN 07 counterparts in reading and counting exercises, fostering a shared joy of learning. Later, all the children gathered in the assembly hall, where our K2 students performed the Indonesian song “Ayo Belajar” and recited the poem “Sahabat.” SLBN 07 students responded with a musical performance, impressing everyone with their talent despite their disabilities.

The visit concluded with the Kinderland students handing out goodie bags filled with snacks and milk, which they had prepared using money earned during their Little Entrepreneur Day in January. This visit, aligned with the theme “Connecting with the World,” taught our students valuable lessons in empathy, respect, and understanding for those with special needs, emphasizing the importance of embracing diversity.
