Celebrating Lebaran at Kinderland was a special way for our young students to experience the joy, values, and traditions of this meaningful festival. Through decorations, food sharing, performances, and acts of kindness, our preschoolers developed a greater appreciation for the cultural significance of Lebaran.
Lebaran, also known as Eid al-Fitr, is an annual celebration for many of our families, marking the end of Ramadan. For Kinderland children, celebrating Lebaran in school provided a valuable opportunity to learn about culture and traditions. By engaging in meaningful activities, our young learners gained a deeper understanding of the festival interactively.
To set the festive mood, we decorated the preschool with colourful ketupat ornaments and crescent moons. The children came dressed in traditional outfits, offering a wonderful opportunity to introduce and share with them the cultural customs associated with Lebaran.
A food-sharing session was held since food is an essential part of Lebaran celebrations. Children brought traditional snacks, such as cookies and nastar (pineapple tarts), to share with their friends. This activity nurtured the spirit of sharing while allowing the children to savour some festive treats.

Food-sharing, an integral tradition of Lebaran
Creating a joyful atmosphere, the Nursery, Kindergarten One (K1), and Kindergarten Two (K2) students performed songs related to Lebaran. Additionally, our K1 and K2 students presented a short skit about Zakat al-Fitr, a charitable practice carried out during Lebaran to assist those in need and foster a spirit of generosity within the community. These performances helped the children feel connected to the spirit of the celebration.
