Boys and girls came to school dressed in traditional Indonesian attire on 21st April, 2017, in Kinderland Sunrise Garden to celebrate Kartini day. Kartini day is a day to remind us of one of Indonesia’s famous women heroes. She had to fight to get women’s right for education. All students and parents from Pre Nursery – K2, were dressed in traditional clothes. We started the assembly by singing a few Indonesian songs, followed by a short movie about ibu Kartini’s life and contributions. After that, a fashion show began. One by one, the contestants showcased their best attires. Our supportive class mums came dressed in Kebaya and walked the ramp with their children. At the end of the day, our children took home with them a piece of information about the rich Indonesian heritage.
