Strengthening Excellence: Aligning Kinderland Indonesia’s Chinese Language Teachers with International Standards

In November 2025, a new framework—the “Skills Standards for International Preschool Chinese Teachers” （国际中文学前教师职业技能等级标准）—was officially introduced to benchmark professional competencies. National Group Standards (团体标准), are developed in strict accordance with China National Institute of Standardization’s guidelines. Relevant organizations and industry experts collaborated to guide best practices globally. Adoption of these standards helps international preschools strengthen professional development and enhance Chinese language teaching quality through expert-developed guidelines and processes.

Kinderland Indonesia extended an invitation to Dr. Chen Shi, one of the principal technical experts who developed “Skills Standards for International Preschool Chinese Teachers”, to share her insights. Dr. Chen is the Vice Principal, Chinese Early Childhood & Language Teaching Department of KLC International Institute, Singapore. She is an International Chinese Early Childhood education practitioner and teacher trainer with over 30 years of experience.

On 3rd February 2026, Kinderland’s Chinese language preschool teachers across Indonesia had the valuable opportunity to have an in-person session with Dr. Chen. She provided an overview of the teacher training programme designed to meet those standards. She also highlighted the need for educators leverage on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to facilitate better Chinese language teaching.

Kinderland’s Chinese language teachers will be the first in Indonesia to embark on this professional training programme. The initiative enhances teaching skills and professional competence to ensure the delivery of high-quality Chinese language education aligned with Kinderland’s educational approach.

Upon completion of the training, these teachers will receive certification from ChinesePlus, Beijing and KLC International Institute, Singapore, aligning them to the latest international standards. KLC International Institute is a leading Early Childhood educator training institution in Singapore established since 1988.
